Your AI agent, our cloud
One API key is all it takes. Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf or any MCP client can create, resize and manage real servers in Tel Aviv and Amsterdam, in plain language, through the Hostereo MCP server or the REST API.
How it works
1
Create one API key

In the console, under Account → API Keys, create a key and allow the IP address of the machine your agent runs on. Keys only work from the addresses you choose, and you can limit a key to read-only.

2
Connect your agent

Your account comes with its own MCP endpoint, hosted by Hostereo. Point Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, Claude Desktop or any other MCP client at it with your key. Nothing to install, nothing to update.

3
Ask for what you need

"Create an Ubuntu 24.04 server in Tel Aviv on the Basic plan and give me its IP." The agent picks the plan, region and image from the live catalogue, creates the instance and reports back when it is running.

Set up in two minutes

Nothing to download. Your agent talks to https://api-public.hostereo.com/mcp with your key. Replace hst_live_your_key with the key from the console.

Add it to Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http hostereo https://api-public.hostereo.com/mcp \
  --header "X-Api-Key: hst_live_your_key"

Then, inside Claude Code: "List my Hostereo instances" or "Create a WordPress server in Amsterdam".

Add it to Cursor

Settings → MCP → Add new global MCP server, or edit ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "hostereo": {
      "url": "https://api-public.hostereo.com/mcp",
      "headers": { "X-Api-Key": "hst_live_your_key" }
    }
  }
}
Add it to OpenAI Codex CLI

In ~/.codex/config.toml:

[mcp_servers.hostereo]
url = "https://api-public.hostereo.com/mcp"
http_headers = { "X-Api-Key" = "hst_live_your_key" }
Windsurf, Claude Desktop, Zed, Cline, Continue, Gemini CLI

Every MCP client accepts the same definition in its MCP settings file (for Claude Desktop: claude_desktop_config.json):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "hostereo": {
      "url": "https://api-public.hostereo.com/mcp",
      "headers": { "X-Api-Key": "hst_live_your_key" }
    }
  }
}
Things you can just say
Create a Supabase instance in Tel Aviv on the Standard plan, name it api-staging, and show me the connection details.
List my instances, tag the ones named build-* as "ci", and stop everything tagged ci at the end of the day.
web-2 is running out of memory. Resize it to the next plan with more RAM, dry run first, then do it.
What the agent can do
  • Browse the live catalogue: regions, plans, OS images, 1-click apps (WordPress, Supabase, OpenVPN and more)
  • Create instances from an OS image or an app, prepaid or postpaid
  • Start, stop, reboot, hard reboot, resize
  • Read live status, connection details and the console URL
  • Organise instances in projects and tags
  • Follow every operation until it succeeds or fails
Built so an agent cannot surprise you
  • Creates run as a dry run first: every check, nothing built or charged, until you confirm
  • Every create, power action or resize needs an explicit confirmation from you
  • Keys are bound to your IP addresses and can be scoped to read-only
  • Deleting a server is deliberately not possible through the API: that stays in the console
  • Hosted by Hostereo for your account: 33 tools, nothing to install or update, every call is logged under your account
Prefer the plain API?

The MCP server is a thin layer over our public REST API. Same key, same capabilities, from any language, CI pipeline or Terraform.

curl -s https://api-public.hostereo.com/api/v1/regions

curl -s -X POST https://api-public.hostereo.com/api/v1/instances \
  -H "X-Api-Key: hst_live_your_key" -H "Idempotency-Key: $(uuidgen)" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"plan_id":"<plan uuid>","region":"tlv-dc-1","image_id":"<image uuid>","name":"build-1","dry_run":true}'
